	April 18-20 (Dick Bruesehoff and Jane Vennard) Workshop - The Practice of Prayer Shalom Retreat Center, Dubuque, IA In recent decades, prayer has largely become a private practice, and in our congregations it has taken a back seat to our ability to research and fix whatever issues or conditions we face—often without God’s involvement. The session will help participants move from bookend prayers to making prayer the thread that holds the life and work of the community together.

	July 27-29 (Larry Peers) Seminar - The Power of Story to Transform Your Leadership Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center, West Hartford, CT This seminar connects the contemporary uses of narrative for personal and organizational change to the various ways that we use story and can do narrative work as leaders in faith communities.

	August 20-22 (Lillian Daniel and Craig van Gelder) Workshop - The Practice of Proclamation Shalom Retreat Center, Dubuque, IA Like prayer, the Bible has lost its central place in the life of many of our congregations; in large part it has simply become a repository of narratives, poetry or teachings, or it has become a tool that we use to make our point. Scripture comes to life in community when it is proclaimed and interpreted through reading, hearing, preaching and making connections between the stories of God and the life stories of the individuals and the congregations that gather around the biblical narratives and teachings. This session will help participants unleash Scripture’s power to renew and revitalize the community in faith and mission. This involves both active listening (to Scripture and sermons) and interactive storytelling (our own stories and God’s stories intersect).
	August 25-27 (William Enright and Richard Klopp) Workshop - Creating Congregational Cultures of Generosity Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center, Lake Junaluska, NC This seminar demonstrates how to “bake the cake” of congregational generosity by exploring the significant and necessary steps to creating lasting cultural change within a congregation and synthesizing research from the Center on Philanthropy and the practical experience of working with religious organizations from the Lake Institute.

	September 28-30 (Susan Beaumont) Seminar - Stepping Up to Supervision Simpsonwood Conference and Retreat Center, Norcross, GA No one ever taught me how to do this! This is the common cry of the pastoral leader who steps into a supervisory role for the first time. Supervising the work of others requires learning new skill sets that are consistent with the role of pastor, but not innately known, and seldom learned during professional formation. The practice of service helps us integrate our needs with the needs of others, freed for service by the good news of God’s love in Christ. Congregational leaders will move from doing ministry on behalf of others to equipping their members for ministry in their daily lives.
	November 16-18 (Larry Peers) Seminar - Breakthroughs: Getting Congregations from Stuck to Thriving Franciscan Renewal Center, Scottsdale, AZ In this seminar, we will explore some of the common patterns and dynamics that keep leaders and congregations “stuck” or unable to sustain the necessary changes for their breakthroughs in becoming vital centers for spiritual growth and for ministry in their communities.
